First tastes!

Skelly has had lots of first tastes this weekend! Dim Sum today was so much fun. He tried char siu bao and jook and loved both. He also had a big chunk of pancake that J. made and was so excited to squish and gum. I love that he can come out to eat with us now and sit in his highchair like such a big boy. He is loving his mum mums and sweet potato puffs. I am so glad that he is such an adventurous eater so far. I love feeeding this kid!

Seven Months

My sweet baby I cannot believe that you are SEVEN MONTHS today. You have still been in my belly longer than out but it seems as though you are completely woven into the fabric of our lives. You are a wild man now and love to scream and talk and try out your voice. Just the other day you said DA DA! We're still waiting for Daddy to actually be there for it, but we know that you have it in you. Even as I write this you are standing in your exersaucer peeking around your high chair and talking away to make sure that I know you are there. When I turn to look at you, your smile lights up your face. We just took our first trip together to Massachusetts and although you had a rough beginning to both ends of the trip, you proved your mother's roots by sleeping the rest of the 5 hours soundly. I am loving all of these changes in you and cannot believe it's possible to love you anymore than I do already but am finding it to be true everyday. You are amazing my baby Skelly!

Just the cutest boy ever.....

Ever seen Big Trouble in Little China.....here's the Chinese boy with the blue eyes....

Little boys are made of puppy dog tails....

and sunshine and cheesy grins and chubby nom-able thighs....Ah, Skelly, Mommy loves you to pieces! You are growing so big and loving this sunshine on your face. It was so wonderful to celebrate the coming of spring with you and know that pretty soon you will feel the grass on your knees as you crawl through the jungle that is our backyard.

First batch of baby food!

So the verdict is Peas- 4 Skelly- 0. Skelly is not a fan. Looks like they will not be the first go at baby food. However, he is a HUGE fan of sweet potatoes. I have the beaba cook ready to go! I tried to run it at first to clean it out without realizing you have to pour the designated amount of water INTO the machine and not just let it sit in the steamer basket, but hey, it's a learning process, right? He has loved the canned versions so Momma is going to try her hand at some fresh. Results to come.....

You are Six Months Old....

Dear Skelly,
This letter is right on time as your daddy runs out to get dinner. I've just put you to bed and truly love that time of night. You cuddle close to me and try to suck on my cheeks and shoulders as I carry you to our rocking chair. You are rolling like crazy now and love to roll back and forth, back and forth. You are getting better with spending time on your tummy but happy that you can roll off when you want to. Doris and Brenda are your favorites at school and you light up when you see your friends. You are the king of the exersaucer at school and all the big kids crowd around you to see all of the toys you are beginning to be able to navigate. Oh my baby you are growing so big! I just washed another bunch of pj's for you and they are size 12-18mos! It's amazing how tall and strong you are getting in just this short time.
My sweet baby, you still love your momma and it absolutely melts my heart to see your little face in the mirror as we drive to school and back. You stay awake a little longer in the car ride and play with all of your toys until you fall asleep. You are so loved my little guy.

sleep struggles....

Still struggling with trying to help Skelly sleep on our terms....I feel like I've been making progress on these sleep battles and he's been going down much more easily lately, but still waking up. I don't know if it's because I read everything I can get my hands on or if I am just jealous of babies that STTN, but he's still waking at least once, usually twice and I am one of those people that needs constant sleep, not this broken sleep. J. has been working on Saturdays lately so I don't even get to sleep in which has been hurting my sleep. Skelly, Mommy would really love a WHOLE night's sleep....pretty please?
