Recharged!
As much as I missed Skelly yesterday, the date day with J was WONDERFUL! I highly recommend that any new parents take a weekend away at some point. It was so nice to just hang out and talk and we had a blast at Great Adventure. We splurged and got a fast pass so we got to ride all of the roller coasters and went through the safari too. What a fun day and I feel so refreshed and recharged. We absolutely could not have done it without my cousin so we will be forever grateful to her for giving us a little time away. It was such a relief to be able to relax and have a good time and know that Skelly was being loved on by lots of family and friends.

missing him....
Skelly is visiting relatives today and tomorrow and I am a disaster already...I am so excited to spend some time with J. but can't believe I won't see my little baby until tomorrow night. I just have to keep on telling myself that he will be absolutely fine, smothered with love and attention and if he has a hard time sleeping, will not in fact stay up all night and will fall asleep eventually. Ten months later and this is the second time he has not been with his Momma and Daddy and I know that it will be much harder on me then on him...but just have to keep reminding myself of that. I miss you baby. Momma loves you.

Ten Whole Months!
Dear Skelly,
You are ten months today! Happy Fourth of July! This has been a month full of milestones and growth. You are 23 lbs. and 3 oz. 29 1/2 inches long. You are such a big boy! The other day in the mall I overheard a woman telling her friend, "what a huge baby!" I am amazed at your growth and your strength. This month we had to visit Children's Hospital to see the pumonologist. It was so so scary. You had a chest x-ray and a sweat test. In the end we discovered you have asthma.
This month you have learned to crawl forward and are now getting into EVERYTHING! Your favorite is Muse's water bowl and as soon as you see an opening you are splashing and having the very best time playing in it. You love to swim and have been in the pool a few times. You are pulling up on all of the furniture and free-falling backwards. You know that I worry a bit and always give me a huge grin right before you let go. Bath time with Daddy is also crazy time for you and you try and grab the faucet and pull up on the sides of the tub as he tries to wash you.
We are slowly getting into a sleep routine and you have slept through the night for a few weeks now fairly consistently. We're getting there, you and I and I am loving this time with you. When they told me that the Peace Corps would be the toughest job I'd ever love they were wrong...this is. I have developed a huge respect for stay at home moms! I try and keep you busy each day. Yesterday we had our first trip to the zoo and you will start gym classes on Monday. Wednesday is music and you loved banging on the different drums and clapping your hands while we sang.
It will be a crazy and amazing summer and I am so very blessed to have you in my life, my little wild one.
Love,
Momma
