Nine Months!
My sweet sweet Skelly,
You are Nine Months old today. Although I have been awful about writing on here, know that I savor all of your milestones. Right this moment you are on your knees rocking back and forth to get at your toys, particuarly your keys and bobble head chicken. You are this.close to crawling and are able to scoot backwards well but your forward is still a work in progress. I think you have done it at daycare but they are staying quiet on the subject. You say mama and dada constantly along with wild yells. You love to talk and are most talkative in the mornings.
You still have your terrible cough and have been using a nebulizer like a trooper, but will have to see another doctor about it. It breaks our heart to hear your little cough and worry that you are allergic to Muse. That is a fear of ours right now and we will do everything that we can to keep our little family together and get you healthy at the same time.
It warms my heart how much your family loves you. We visited Massachusetts on Memorial Day and Auntie Christina was so thrilled to see you as was Uncle O and Titi Camille. Who would have thought that these three people who were scared to hold you as a tiny baby would be fighting to hold you constantly and loving you to pieces!
Our new favorite game to play is patty cake and you clap along happily. Your clapping is hilarious and makes my day. Your Auntie Christina sent you a Jeep Walker which you love to ride around in and knock down everything you can get your hands on. I am constantly amazed at how very blessed we are to have you in our lives. You make me complete my beautiful boy.
Love,
Momma

Mother's Day
or the return of the black plague...whatever you want to call it....Mother's Day was wonderful and full of the stresses of motherhood, I guess is the best way to put it. J came down with the stomach bug that I had been fighting all week and was completely out of order. He did get me cards from himself, Drew and Muse that were wonderful and a gorgeous lilac tree that will forever remind me of my first Mother's Day. It was definitely bittersweet. How much more can you miss your own mom on your first Mother's Day, especially when you're sick and just wish that she was there to take care of you as well as celebrate my own new motherhood. I truly missed her on Sunday and couldn't shake the feeling that things would have been so different had she been able to be there with me.Anyway, my first Mother's Day was amazing and truly made me realize how very blessed I am to have Skelly in my life. I can't imagine it any other way.

Eight Months
Dearest Skelly- You are Eight Months and I cannot believe how this time has flown by. I meant to write this post to you last night but you did not want to sleep in your crib, which is not totally unusual, and you cried and threw up all over me. We let you sleep with us, and I say this with lightness because your Daddy always likes when you sleep in between us. I have a stomach bug and you were such a good sleeper and have been such an amazing little boy. We are continually reminded how absolutely blessed we are that you are in our lives. We will go in late to school today, Momma was up a lot last night. You are sitting next to me in your high chair and shoveling in sweet potato puffs as fast as I can shake them onto your tray.
You are getting so big! Crawling is right around the corner I think and you would much rather stand than have someone cuddle you. You have a red box that is filled with your toys that you light up when you see and your favorite toy right now is a silver rattle from Jan and Harry. You tried Chinese food a few weekends ago and to celebrate your 8 months attempted to eat some spaghetti, see photo below for how successful that went. My big boy you are the best thing that I have ever done and I love you more than you will ever know.
With love,
Momma
