You are a toddler...

Dear Skelly-
Even the word toddler sounds strange to me since you've been my little baby boy for the last year. I find it hard to believe that you are walking across the street to hug your Jerry and climbing up and off the couch to peek out of the windows. You love to watch Muse in the backyard and scream at squirrls...Your Grammie Anne would be happy as you scare them across the lawn. You are a walking machine and no longer crawl, unless of course you're trying to get under and through things that of course you shouldn't be...You love to hide under the table but have still not figured out that you are too tall to stand....You have a million bumps and bruises as you are figuring out this walking stuff. You are a such a little boy now. We have stopped nursing now. Only one full day and believe me....I miss that special time with you. I loved coming into your room in the morning knowing that I would get a few minutes of absolute cuddles and love as you slowly woke up and got ready to jump into your day. You are the most brilliant boy I've ever met and you love to draw and stack blocks. You can stack your blocks up five stories...that is your record so far.
You know what sound a lion makes and give us a quiet little roar when asked which makes Momma and Dada laugh and laugh...
You have developed quite a personality complete with temper tantrums....I thought that the terrible twos began at two but apparently I was wrong since just today you have graced me with three for the awful things I have done as a mother which consist of...

iphones do not swim in the dog bowl or the toilet

dinner is for eating, not throwing

mommy would like to drink her coffee, not wipe it up off the floor

mommy will need to do the wiping. sorry.

I did not build the hill in the back yard, and I'm sorry that you cannot walk up it-while holding the hose.

But, my sweet Skelly you are amazing me everyday. You love going to daycare and are filling the walls with ghost prints, turkeys an apples. You share your toys so well with your friends and love to talk to your teachers and everyone who you come in contact with. Your favorite thing to do now is take everything out of the recycling and hide it. Trashcans, the dog food bag and out the doggy door are your favorite hiding spots. You are an amazing little boy and I love you more and more each day.
Happy 14 months.

Love,
Momma
